Skyview Wedding: Gillian and Zack
When Gillian contacted me from her home in California, she was looking for a low key, easygoing photographer who could capture the real life action of the day without being intrusive, and deliver engaging, unpretentious formal portraits in the context of their tight evening schedule at Skyview Lodge in Brunswick. I was happy to accommodate, as no wedding is too small or easy going that it doesn't deserve great photography.
With blazing sun and 90 degree temperature, we knew right away that the early summer weather would be too much of a good thing. Guests spent every last minute inside before heading outside for the ceremony, and afterwards we raced against the heat to capture the family photos before rushing back in to the relief of the AC. Flexibility is key in any wedding day, and we were able to postpone the formal portraits of Gillian and Zack until shortly before sunset, providing relief from both heat and the glaring sun.
Dancing and good times dominated the evening, and there was no shortage of either as the celebration pressed into the night. Here are a few highlights from the day:
