The Literary Sets 2001-2010--final month
I'm stoked to finally show this body of work from four different sessions spanning almost a decade. The "Literary Set(s)" are portrait series taken at the historic/nostalgic Literary Cafe in the Tremont neighborhood. Each session consisted of a temporary studio setup in the back room of the Literary Cafe, where patrons were invited to step up and have their photos taken at no charge and very little direction. The resulting series reveal sometimes very candid and casual portraits working as parts of a larger body of work. Each session featured different set ups and formats, including medium format on a black seamless, 4x5 positive/negative polaroid on a white seamless, curtains and stage lighting, and a red seamless on the occasion of an Oscar™ party. The exhibit will be up for the months of June and July, with receptions on Art-Walk nights of June 11, July 9, and August 13th at Mastroianni Photography and Arts.
