Dark Silver: latest portraits from the black & white film series

The latest portraits from the black and white film series Dark Silver were shot early this summer, and the results were stunning. The latest set features all natural light portraits created on both medium format and 4x5 film, and the final images glow in only the way real film can record light.

If you would like to sit for a portrait session with the large format view camera, please contact me. Sessions are usually limited to the studio due to the size of the camera, but more complex sessions can also be booked for location shoots. Portrait sittings are an involved process, with careful camera set up and lighting, and the creation of a dozen or so exposures. Then each sheet of film is processed by hand in my exclusive darkroom. After reviewing the proofs, final toned enlargements on real fiber paper are printed by hand one at a time to archival standards. Sizes vary from the original negative proportions up to 20x24 inches.

This is a one of a kind portrait session, with heirloom quality prints; complete packages with contact sheets and large format silver gelatin prints start at $500. Contact me for more information.
