Donna Ferrato and her brother Lou have photography in their veins. World renown photo journalist Donna Ferrato made a huge impact right out of the gate with her book, Living With The Enemy, which was a harrowing examination of domestic violence. Their late father, PJ Ferrato, was a heart surgeon by trade, but also an avid and prolific photographer, never without a camera in hand.
These portraits were all made with the 8x10 view camera, the ones of Donna and Lou in November of 2017, and the one of PJ nearly twenty years earlier. But the darkness and intensity brings them together, faces sparking in the dark, and Lou's ephemeral self, exposed multiple times on a single sheet of film.
