Melissa Kahoury and Penny Barend are the owners and butchers in chief of Saucisson, an artisan butcher shop in the Slavic Village neighborhood of Cleveland. They bring years of expertise to the shop, providing local restaurants with custom meat processing, as well as their own handmaid sausage and other meat products. Their shop, at 5324 Fleet Ave., is also open to the public Thursday through Saturday for lunch specials and fresh cut meats and homemade sausages.
Melissa and Penny, whose business is just down the street from Silver Scuro Studio, agreed to sit for a short series of portraits on film with the large format view camera.
